Yes, I had never been to the US, I had always thought it was too expensive and that it was a too common destination. I then surrendered and I bought the tickets to head to Phoenix...not too cheap though! At this time of my life I didn't care too much, I just wanted to have a wonderful experience, and I managed to have..It has been one of the best trip I have ever had in my life! We had a mess in our minds...we would have loved to spend some weeks in a warm location..so that we ended up to Phoenix..and then what else!? Well Grand Canyon, Zion National Park, Bryce Park, Arches National Park, Canyon Land National Park, Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, Taos Pueblo, White Sand Dunes National Monument, Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument, Saguaro East National Park and the Apache Trail. All the above was visited in 10 days! ,-) Quite in a rush, but we did it!
Let's get the tips started!
Travel Book: Southwest USA by Lonely Planet
Flights Operated by British Airways : negative feedback related to the call centre
Car rental company: Budget; Initially we went for the cheapest car ever, once at the counter we ended up to a Ford Escape, because they couldn't provide either winter tires nor chains, so the only solution was a 4x4; 84 miles for a 1/4 of a tank
Travel Map: best solution ever! Back to the origin and you get a total overview of your daily itinerary

Tips:
- Route 89: partially closed last 100 miles or less direction page, there is the 89 Alternative, letting you discover the Vermillion Cliffs
- Route 95 (from Blanding heading to Natural Bridges N.M.) and Route 275: you are really in the middle of the nowhere, so you'd better be prepared to have a full tank
